Whoopi Weepy Over Montage Diss

It's not quite as glaring as Brad Renfro's omission from the in memoriam montage, but Whoopi Goldberg got teary this morning on "The View" over getting left off the Oscar-host clip reel -- even though she's hosted four times.

Barbara Walters wondered if she was left out because she was included in an Oscar-winner's reel, and pointed out that Steve Martin was also left out. But the waterworks started when she thanked the rest of the "View" crew for "making up" for the diss.

61. The reason Brad Renfro and Roy Scheider were left out of In Memorium was because they died in calendar year 2008. Heath Ledger was the last Hollywood figure to die in 2007

65. All I know is the some of the Oscars choice of nominations and winners are getting ridiculously of the mark thank goodness there are other venues Indepedent Spirit Awards ,SAG etc so the others get the recognition they deserve

And the show was boring

66. i am sick of hollywood whining and wanting to be noticed. Could be why viewership is declining for the Hollywood elite. We are sick of their egos.

Yes, she's all that and has been a powerhouse in L.A.! She has an Oscar and loves CAUCASIAN men so I think she can probably speak about prejudice from both sides of the fence (I can imagine there have been more unkind things said about her in the black community than the caucasian community). Personally, I think she was a wonderful Host of The Oscars in years gone by....she, Billy Crystal, and Steve Martin were my favorites. Guess I was taking a break in viewing last night when the apparent slight took place though she was acknowledged as an Oscar Winner in the montage and, therefore, I would think that is an even greater honor; but, I do remember John Stewart including her in one of his jokes last night which is highly complimentary.

Quite frankly, I'm getting sick of "The View" and feel there was some serious exploitation occuring this morning. Older women tend to be (awake) and we see tend to see the injustice in every way and the worst is the patriarchal versus the matriarchal. It saddens me as an over sixty woman who grew-up in a mixed neighborhood as a child that all caucasians will now be expected to pay the price for the injustice created by BLACK Africans who sold their very own to become slaves in Europe and the United States. I LOVE Whoopi Goldberg and anyone of any race who will let go of fear and open their hearts and minds to be accepted in my heart as a caucasian woman.

69. That's okay, Whoop. My father-in-law, Ed Yates, who directed American Bandstand from it's infancy to the height of its popularity, was emitted from the Emmy's last year, even though we notified the Director's Guild in plenty of time for them to have included him in the Memorium. Just one of those things.

70. There will never be another Whoopi Goldberg just as there will never be another Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, or John Wayne. Deep within Whoopi's heart she knows how much she is loved and that she is special in the hearts of most caucasians. I think she was having a menopausal or bad hair cut (she should have left it long) moment today! I hope she can make another film sometime soon! She's over-qualified for The View though I can imagine the contract was lucrative for her to have joined.

74. 62 (Kiki), do you realize that you not only proved my point about racism in America, however, it is obvious that you need to "wake up" yourself. Those remarks about white people NOW having to be held responsible for black people crap is soooo old. I grew up in a predominately white neighborhood and I have heard that for over 35 years.... no, correction, I heard it 35 years ago! For the record black people DO like and respect Whoopi and just for the record, I LOVE "CAUCASIAN" men also. In fact, I love all people of all races and I do not expect anyone of any race to be responsible for me.... I do very well on my own thank you very much and if your racist remarks make you feel better about yourself, then knock yourself out, but get out of my way as I continue to soar!
